About Vopool

  • 02-02-2014
Our main aim was to create a website with user content input! Which means a social media site for NGO work and volunteers. Vopool was launched in 2013 December first time as a beta website and since then we have been working and developing the site itsel

Our Story

After working in various NGOs as a project manager, youth leader and youth worker; our team member Mehmet ÇETİNKAYA defined a need in the Youth Work and Social Work Field which was lack of IT software / website on finding volunteers and volunteering opportunities. Than this idea has been shared with the other team member and web developer Ahmet DOĞAN.

There were many websites working on publishment of volunteering opportunities and NGO news but there was no IT software or web site which works as a database with easy access!

One of the other issue with the existing web sites were; all the websites were designed to content input by the website owner, not by users.

Our main aim was to create a website with user content input! Which means a social media site for NGO work and volunteers.

Vopool was launched in 2013 December first time as a beta website and since then we have been working and developing the site itself!
Now we are aiming to widen our work and cooperation with new tools that can be used by volunteers, project managers, NGOs, volunteering centres, trainers and social work related people!

Our Mission

To make people come together to help and solve society’s problems through voluntary and civic action. Whether it’s through volunteering or choosing a career for community benefit, we want people to connect, share, learn and grow and in doing so provide a global class service that is able to extend the capacity of civil society.

Our Approach

According to our perspective voluntary work should be at the heart of everything we do to inspire everyone to get involved and do something for their community's life. Using the newest technologies, we want to help civil society gain the benefits of putting volunteers and communities at the centre of their work as an essential element of social change.
